NHL Action - Montreal skates into Ottawa
11.29.05 (7:27 pm)   [edit]

Fresh off a victory last game over Bruins, Ottawa can stay on a roll Tuesday by skating circles around the Montreal Canadiens.

Montreal brings a 14-6-4 overall mark (5-3-3 in the division) into this game versus an Ottawa team carrying a 18-3-0 record.

Oddsmakers like the Senators in this one, opening the line at 270 in favor of Ottawa. They are 18-3-0 this season, while the Canadiens are 14-6-4.

Last time out, the Canadiens lost to the Maple Leafs 4-3 as 140 underdogs. That contest went over the closing total.

The Senators come off a 4-2 win against the Bruins, a game where they were a 350 favorite. The game went under the closing total of 6.5.

Expect the league's #1 offence to pot some goals and generate trouble for the Canadiens defence. Averaging 4.8 goals per game, the Senators can run up the score if they get on a roll.

Some trends to consider:
Montreal is 1-4-0 SU in its last 5 games after scoring 3 to 4 goals
Montreal is 2-4-0 OU in its last 6 away
Ottawa is 6-1-0 SU in its last 7 games after scoring 3 to 4 goals
Ottawa is 1-5-1 OU in its last 7 at home

Ottawa at Boston, Thursday, December 1

Hurricanes vs Senators   NHL   &nbs p;  BET NOW

If revenge is for suckers, the Senators will be looking to suck it up against the Hurricanes, who beat them 2-1 in their last meeting.

Ottawa brings a 15-3-0 overall mark (10-0-0 in the division) into this game versus a Carolina team carrying a 14-5-1 record.

In a game that potentially could see plenty of scoring, the total opened high, at 6.5. The line opened at 140 in favor of the Senators.

Bryan Murray's team hopes to build upon a 5-4 win over the Devils. They were 325 favorites in a game that went over the total.

The Hurricanes, meanwhile, will try to forget last game's 5-2 loss at the hands of the Lightning, a game where they were favorites by 140. The combined score went over the total.

This game is likely to come down to the Senators's execution on offence. They rank 1st in the league in scoring and look to sustain their 4.7 goals per game average against the Hurricanes's #9-rated defensive unit.

Some trends to consider:
Ottawa is 5-12-1 OU in its last 18 games away against Carolina

Ravens anxious to end 4-game losing skid
11.20.05 (9:53 am)   [edit]

If familiarity breeds contempt, there should be animosity aplenty when the Steelers visits division rival Baltimore at M & T Bank Stadium Sunday.

Pittsburgh brings a 7-2 overall mark (3-0 in the division) into this game versus a Baltimore team carrying a 2-7 record.

The Steelers are listed as 4-point favorites in this one, while the over/under sits at a low 34.

The Steelers come off a 34-21 win against Cleveland, a game where they were 7.5-point favorites. The game went over the closing total of 34.5.

Meanwhile, Baltimore comes off a 30-3 loss against Jacksonville, a game where they were 6-point underdog. The game went under the closing total of 33.5.

You can't expect much in the way of offensive fireworks from Baltimore. Saddled with the 32nd-ranked offence and averaging just 11.1 PPG, the Ravens' offence needs to give its defensive unit some help Sunday in order to have a chance against the Steelers.

Some trends to consider:
Pittsburgh is 1-4-0 OU in its last 5 away
Pittsburgh is 6-3-0 ATS in its last 9 games against Baltimore
Pittsburgh is 4-2-0 ATS in its last 6 games
Pittsburgh is 8-4-0 OU in its last 12 games
Baltimore is 7-2-0 OU in its last 9 games against Pittsburgh
Baltimore is 11-3-1 ATS in its last 15 games after being 3.5 to 7 point underdogs
Baltimore is 8-3-0 SU in its last 11 games after being 3.5 to 7 point underdogs
Baltimore is 4-2-0 OU in its last 6 games at home against Pittsburgh

Sports Interaction

At Sports Interaction Poker we’ve got a Poker game to suit every standard and every pocket. If you’re a new Player, why not start out at our Play for Fun or Micro Limit Tables?

If you fancy yourself as a bit of a Big Slick – our Cash Tables are as high as $10 / $20 blind tables.

Our Table set ups – are 10 handed and 6 handed, except our 2 person Head Up tables.

The game of choice is Texas Hold ‘Em (No Limit, Pot Limit and Limit versions) and we also have Omaha and Omaha Hi Lo tables.

The Poker Lobby

The Lobby contains the lists of players, games and tournaments, enabling you to navigate to the location of your choice. It also contains links to the Poker Cashier, Help and Contact information. The central area of the Lobby displays lists of players, tables, games and tournaments.

The Lobby can display a wide range of information, easily selected by clicking on the tabs across the top of the screen. Within each list, you can sort the information alphabetically or numerically by clicking on the heading of any column.

For example, in the Players List, clicking on the head of the "Names" column will sort the list by Player's Name alphabetically. Clicking again will re-sort the list in reverse alphabetical order.

The tabs access the following lists:

Players

The number of players currently playing at this table (not including the dealer).

Poker Game Selection Tabs

This is the default view. The Game tabs show the game types available (Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo) and, by selecting each one, a list of available games is displayed. Doubling-clicking on a game or selecting it and clicking the Join Table or Watch Table buttons will take you to that table.

The columns of the room list table are explained below:

Stakes - The stakes used at this table (the stakes and betting rules are explained in the the Game Rules).

Players - The number of players currently playing at this table (not including the dealer).

Avg. Pot - average pot per game at this table for the last 50 hands.

Plrs/flop - What percent of players, who started the hand, stayed in until the flop card, see Game Rules. This figure is an average calculated for the last 50 hands.

Hnds/Hr - This number of dealt hands per hour on that table.

Tournaments
This tab lists the scheduled tournaments, giving basic information and indicating the status - whether "upcoming", "finished" or open for "registration". Clicking on a tournament provides further information and, if applicable, the registration screen.

Games
A range of additional games including Blackjack, Poker Three, Aces & Faces and Deuces Wild can be selected by clicking on one of the icons here.

To start playing

To join a table, select one from the game list and double-click on it. Alternatively, highlight the table of your choice and then click the Join Table button.

To watch a game at a table without participating, select a table and click Watch Table.

Some tables use Play Money. That means you do not win or lose any real money during the game at that table. Play Money is intended for practice and pleasure.

If you wish to join a table, chose one of the available positions (marked with a yellow "Select" button) and press the button of your choice. You will immediately be asked to choose the amount you want to take to the table. The amount will be displayed on your Table Balance miniscreen in the lower left corner of the screen. As the game progresses, this amount will increase and decrease accordingly. Once you exit the game table and return to the Lobby, your total balance will be displayed again.

When you sit down, there is probably a game round in progress. Wait for it to finish. Then you will be asked to post the Big Blind, as you are the latest joiner. Use the following buttons and boxes during the game:

Sit out - Check this box to withdraw from the game. You will stay seated at the table. When you uncheck this box, you will return to the game at the start of the next game round. If you missed a round, where you should have posted a blind, then you have to post it when you return to the game.

Auto muck - Fold your card automatically during Showdown, if a previous player has a better hand than you.

Auto post - Check this box to post blinds automatically, as required.

Get more Chips - To buy chips, using the money on your balance, click here.

Chat - To chat with other players, type your text into the chat bar and press enter, or click the Chat button.

Help - Click this button to open the help file.

Options - Click here to open the Options window, where you can adjust various game settings. See the Options section of the help file for more information.

Lobby - Click here to exit the Poker Room and go back to the Lobby.

Multiple Tables* - It is possible to join up to three tables and play three games simultaneously. When you have joined a table, return to the Lobby and select and join another table, repeating this again for the third. Switching between open tables is done through a set of table buttons located in the top left corner of the table window.
*this feature is only available when playing in top view mode.

When you are playing multiple tables, you will see a list of the active tables in the top left hand corner of each table window. You can switch between tables by clicking on the Table Name in this list. To leave any of the tables, click on the red "exit" box adjacent to each table name.

House Rules

The following rules apply when playing at Sports Interaction Poker.

Buying Chips

A facility to purchase chips will be offered automatically when a seat is selected at any table.

The minimum or maximum buy in for any cash game will be shown when purchasing your chips.

Buy-in amounts are based on the size of the game or the blinds for that table.

Chips purchased, while seated at a table, will be subject to any limits for the table, and any top ups will have to bring your balance up to at least the minimum amount, but will not be allowed to take your balance over the maximum should there be one.

At the completion of any hand should your table balance be less than the big blind you will need to purchase more chips to continue playing.

Dumping/Passing Chips

Deliberately losing chips to other players for whatever reason will not be tolerated and WILL be picked up by our collusion monitoring team and dealt with accordingly.

Betting and Raising (including the "under raise")

In LIMIT play, an all-in wager of LESS than half the bet for that round, is considered an "under raise" and will be treated as a call for betting purposes. It does not reopen the action for any subsequent player who has already acted on their hand that round.

A player who has already acted and is now facing less than half a bet can fold or call the wager. They may not raise.

An all-in wager of HALF THE BET OR MORE, but still below the full amount, is treated as a full bet and therefore considered a raise for betting purposes. A subsequent player can fold, call or make a full raise and any player, who had already acted prior to the "all in" bet, also has the full range of options open to him.

In NO-LIMIT or POT-LIMIT poker, an "all-in" raise that is less than the bet or raise of the previous player does not reopen the action for players who have already acted on their hands. Any raise that is below the amount needed for a legitimate raise will be considered a call for betting purposes. Only players still to act in the round will receive a full set of options.

Any wager must be at least the size of the previous bet or raise in any round UNLESS a player is going "all in".

Playing Multiple Tables

Players may play more than one table at once with a maximum of three tables open at any one time. Any combination of cash or tournament tables may be used.

Show/Muck

The show/muck option is designed to give players a chance to show any hand that would not normally be seen. This feature will remain on screen for a few moments to enable a player, who has not checked 'auto muck', to display his hole cards when appropriate. If not used within the time allowed, the cards will be mucked automatically.

Pre-select Options box

A set of PRE-SELECT options will appear at times and can be used when so desired. Any option chosen will only be implemented if still available when it is your turn to act; otherwise your new game options will be shown. For example if you agree to a call of $5 then that is the maximum you will have to pay to call. If the call is now more expensive you will be shown a new set of available choices. The PRE-SELECT option box is designed to speed up play and save you time, should you wish to act before it is your turn.

Sitting Out

When seated at a table a player has the option to "Sit Out". To do this simply check the "Sit Out" box. Once selected you will continue sitting at the table but will not be dealt in.

You will remain sat out until you un-check the "Sit Out" box. Once un-checked you will be dealt back in.

If you remain in Sit Out mode for longer than 15 minutes you will be removed from the table and returned to the Lobby.

We prevent players from entering and leaving (sitting out) games where the position relative to the dealer can bring advantage by requesting they post the equivalent of the blind (known as a dead blind).

No financial advantage will be gained by missing the rotation of the blind.

Chat Rules

We like to maintain a friendly and pleasant atmosphere for all our players and visitors. Although we cannot be held responsible for any player conduct, we do reserve the right to refuse use of the poker room to anyone who violates our rules and we will act quickly against offenders.

The following subjects are strictly prohibited.

Patriots prepare to face Saints at home
11.18.05 (4:17 am)   [edit]

They say revenge is best served cold. The Saints can put payback on the menu Sunday, recalling their 34-17 lossback on November 25, 2001, when they face the Patriots at Gillette Stadium.

New England brings a 5-4 overall mark (2-0 in the division) into this game versus a New Orleans team carrying a 2-7 record.

The Patriots (4-5 ATS) opened as 10-point favorites and they host a Saints team that has covered 3 of their 9 games this season. The total opened at 45.

Jim Haslett's troops hosted Chicago last game and came away with a 20-17 loss, a game that went over 34.5. Oddsmakers had them as 3-point underdogs in that one.

Bill Belichick's troops were at Miami last game and came away with a 23-16 win, a game that went under 43. Oddsmakers had them as 3-point favorites in that one.

New Orleans better work their passing defence this week in practice, as New England will hit them with an aerial assault that has averaged 275.7 yards per game this season.

Some trends to consider:
New Orleans are 1-3-1 ATS in its last 5 games
New Orleans are 1-4-0 SU in its last 5 games after scoring 10 to 20 points
New Orleans are 2-6-0 OU in its last 8 away
New Orleans are 5-12-0 OU in its last 17 games
New England is 5-0-0 OU in its last 5 games against New Orleans
New England is 10-1-0 SU in its last 11 games after being .5 to 3 point favorites
New England is 15-3-0 SU in its last 18 games after scoring 21 to 30 points
New England is 9-2-0 ATS in its last 11 games after being .5 to 3 point favorites

Here Comes the Broncos Again
11.16.05 (7:34 pm)   [edit]

Broncos vs Jets

Top Rated Sportsbook - VIP Sports

Herman Edwards and Mike Shanahan match wits in Jets/Broncos game

The Broncos look to extend their home winning streak to 6 games when they tangle this week with the New York Jets.

Sporting a 7-2 overall record and a 3-0 mark within the division, the Broncos aim to knock the Jets (1-1 in the division) for a loss.

The Broncos are favored, opening as 12.5-point chalk, with an opening total of 41. They are 6-2-1 ATS this season and 4-5 OU. The Jets are 3-6 ATS and are 4-5 OU.

New York looks to get its offence in gear this week, after a lame display last game resulted in a 30-3 loss against Carolina. The Jets were underdogs in that game, which went under the closing total of 40.5.

Denver won at Oakland last game as a 3-point favorite against Oakland, winning 31-17. The total sailed over.

Don't expect the Broncos to beat itself with turnovers this week. They have allowed just 0.9 turnovers per game so far this season, among the very best teams in the league in that category.

Some trends to consider:
New York are 2-15-0 SU in its last 17 games after being 7.5 to 10 point underdogs
New York are 1-3-1 ATS in its last 5 games after being 7.5 to 10 point underdogs
New York are 1-4-0 ATS in its last 5 away games against Denver
New York are 1-4-0 OU in its last 5 games against Denver
Denver is 5-0-0 OU in its last 5 games

Wagering Guide and Rules

Betting on American Football

General rules

We take Action on all NFL, CFL, AFL and NCAA events. Our Wagering Menu for American Football includes, but is not limited to, the following Exciting Wagers:

  • Pointspread and Total for the entire game
  • Pointspread and Total for each individual half
  • Pointspread and Total for each individual quarter
  • Moneyline for each game
  • Proposition Wagers
  • Point Buying
  • For betting purposes, unless otherwise stipulated, games are official after 55 minutes of play.
  • Teams must play for there to be action, all wagers included, all leagues included.
Pointspread & Over/Under Wagers

BetGameDay is proud to offer Pointspread and Over/Under betting, both online and over the telephone. On a pointspread wager, the team wagered must win by the pointspread. On an over/under wager, the total points of the contest by both teams, overtime included, must fall over or under the side selected.

Example

The posted line is San Francisco -5 at St. Louis +5 and the over/under total is 41.

The odds are $1.10 to win $1.00 (-110) unless otherwise indicated.

For the player who wagers on San Francisco -5, they must win by more than 5 points for this to be a winning wager. For the player who wagers on St. Louis +5, they must either win the game, or lose by less than 5 points for this to be a winning wager. If the outcome falls on the number, either way, the bet is declared a "Push", and the original stake is refunded.

For the player who wagers on the total points of this contest by both teams to be "Over" 41, the combined final score of both teams must exceed 41. For the player who wagers on the total points of this contest by both teams to be "Under" 41, the combined final score of both teams must be less than 41. If the outcome falls on the number, the bet is declared a "Push", and the original stake is refunded.

Pointspread and Over/Under lines will be offered on all NFL, AFL and NCAA contests.
All wagers on the side & total will include all overtime scoring.

Halftime Wagers

BetGameDay is proud to offer Halftime Wagering, both online and over the telephone. Halftime wagering is simply a wager only on the score of the first, or second half of a contest. The line offered will be a pointspread, a moneyline, or a combination of the two, but the wager applies only to the score of the halftime period specified.

  • First half lines will be offered on all NFL and NCAA contests, and will be released mid-week, allowing ample time to get action on these events.
  • Second half lines will be offered on all NFL and the majority of NCAA contests, and will be offered within
  • 5 minutes of the end of the first half of the contest.
  • Wagers may be parlayed to other contests, but a first half wager may not be parlayed to any other wager from the same game.
  • No teaser plays or buying of points is allowed on Halftime Wagers.
  • Overtime periods are included as part of the second half.
  • The full half (first or second) must be played for action.
Quarter Wagers

BetGameDay is proud to offer wagering on individual quarters of selected contests, both online and over the telephone. Wagering on quarters is simply a wager only on the score of the first, second, third or fourth quarter of a contest. These lines will be offered on marquee events, such as Monday Night Football, Sunday night games, and Bowl games. The line offered will be a pointspread, a moneyline, or a combination of the two, but the wager applies only to the score of the quarter specified.

  • Quarter lines will be released the day of the game, allowing ample time to get action on these events.
  • All quarter lines will come down at kickoff.
  • Wagers may be parlayed to other contests, but a quarter wager may not be parlayed to any other wager from the same game.
  • Overtime scoring is not included in Fourth Quarter wagers.
Moneyline Wagers

BetGameDay is proud to offer moneyline wagering on American Football, both online and over the telephone. Moneyline Wagering is simply wagering on the contest based on a given price rather than a pointspread. The team wagered on just has to win the game.

Example

A player could choose one of two wagers on the following matchup: San Francisco -200 at St. Louis +180. If San Francisco wins then the player laid $200.00 to win $100.00. If St. Louis wins then the player who bet $100.00 wins $180.00.

  • Moneylines will be offered on most NFL and NCAA contests, and will normally be available on the morning of the game.
  • Moneyline wagers may be parlayed to other contests, but a moneyline wager may not be parlayed to any other wager from the same game.
Point Buying

BetGameDay is proud to offer Point Buys. This is a method of allowing the bettor to improve the pointspread of a football contest by actually "buying points" for the team he/she wants to wager, side or total. Bettors can buy points in 1/2 point increments up to 3 points, depending on the contest. Each 1/2 point costs the bettor an additional 10% vigorish.

Example

The Denver Broncos are playing the Kansas City Chiefs, and the line on the game is the Broncos -6 1/2, with a total of 42. If a $100 wager is placed on the Broncos -6 1/2 with a 1/2 point buy, the player has a wager on the Broncos -6 points, and must put up $120 to win $100, instead of the usual $110 to win $100. If the player, for example, requests a full 1 point buy to move the pointspread down to -5 1/2, he/she would have to put up $130 to win $100. Buying the pointspread down 1 1/2 points to 5 would cost $140 to win $100, and the full 3 point buy down to 3 1/2 would cost the bettor $170 to win $100.

Conversely, the bettor may also buy points on the Chiefs side, and get the line at plus 7, 7 1/2 or 8 points, all the way up to plus 9 1/2 points with the same increase in vigorish.

Bettors may also buy points for football totals. In this particular game, bettors could buy an "over" wager with a maximum line move down to 39, or an "under" wager with a maximum line move up to 45.

  • Point Buying to a maximum of 3 points will be offered on all NFL and NCAA contests.
  • Bettors will be charged an additional 10% vigorish to buy on, and/or off of the number 3 in the NFL.
  • Point Buying will not be offered on halftime, quarter or moneyline wagers.

Proposition Wagers

BetGameDay offers a wide variety of proposition wagers. Because these wagers deserve special explanation, we have dedicated an entire section for this. Please click the link at the top of this window labeled "Props" for complete details.

Benson carted off field in second quarter
11.13.05 (1:01 pm)   [edit]

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson was carted off the field during the second quarter of Sunday's match-up against the San Francisco 49ers after injuring his right knee.

With 6:10 remaining in the second quarter, Benson was tackled for a two-yard loss and went down awkwardly. Benson was down for several minutes before the training staff helped him up and carted him to the lockers.

Benson had 50 yards rushing before leaving the game in his first career start in place of the injured Thomas Jones. Heading into Sunday's game, Benson had 187 yards rushing on 46 attempts.

Benson was the Bears' first selection in April's NFL Draft, the fourth pick overall.

A four-year starter at Texas, Benson finished his college career as the sixth- leading rusher in NCAA Division I-A history and was the second-leading rusher in Longhorn history.

Broncos, Raiders, to Meet in AFC West Rivalry

(Sports Network) - One of the league's fiercest rivalries resumes this Sunday in Oakland, as the Denver Broncos pay a visit to the Raiders in an AFC West battle.

The Raiders will have to rebound from last Sunday's heartbreaking loss in Kansas City. The Chiefs' Larry Johnson leaped into the end zone with no time left on the clock to give the home team a 27-23 victory.

However, that loss came on the road, where Oakland is 3-9 since the start of last season. The Raiders are tougher by the Bay, posting a 2-2 record at the Coliseum this year.

The Broncos are currently the top team in the AFC West and should be well rested after spending last week at home during the bye.

Prior to the off week, Denver made a big statement by pounding the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles, 49-21, at Mile High.

SERIES HISTORY

The Raiders lead the all-time series with Denver, which dates back to 1960, by a 53-34-2 count. Denver is 15-5 against Oakland since the 1995 season, but was a 25-24 home loser to the Silver and Black in Week 12 of the 2004 season. The Broncos were 31-3 winners in Oakland in their last trip there, and have taken two straight at the Coliseum since a 28-16 Raider win in 2002.

In addition to the regular season series, the teams have split a pair of postseason matchups, with Denver winning the 1977 AFC Championship, 20-17, and the then-Los Angeles Raiders prevailing in a 1993 AFC First-Round Playoff, 42-24.

Denver's Mike Shanahan is 15-5 against the team he coached in 1988 and part of the 1989 season, while Oakland's Norv Turner has a 1-3 mark against both Shanahan and the Broncos, with two of the losses dating to his tenure with Washington (1994-2000).

BRONCOS OFFENSE VS. RAIDERS DEFENSE

The Broncos completely dominated the offensive side of the ball in their win over the Eagles. It was such a well-rounded attack that it's hard to determine what was more impressive, the running or passing game? Jake Plummer and the Denver receivers totaled 309 of the team's 564 total yards through the air with Plummer completing 22-of-35 passes for four touchdowns. Plummer (1,644 yards, 12 TD, 3 INT) posted his second-highest QB rating of the season (129.3). Ashley Lelie (22 receptions, 339 yards, 1 TD) hauled in three passes for 81 yards, while Rod Smith (42 receptions, 559 yards, 3 TD) added five catches for 76 yards and a touchdown. Todd Devoe (five receptions, 59 yards, 1 TD) ended with five catches for 59 yards and a TD. The Broncos have the 19th- rated passing attack in the NFL this season, throwing for 197.4 yards per game.

Oakland did an average job at stopping the pass versus the Chiefs last Sunday, holding Trent Green to 235 yards and a touchdown. Cornerback Fabian Washington (21 tackles) led the secondary in tackles with nine, while safety Stuart Schweigert (31 tackles) made eight stops. Defensive end Tommy Kelly (19 tackles, 3 sacks) made Green uncomfortable, sacking the quarterback three times. The Raiders have the 22nd-rated passing defense in the NFL this year, surrendering 220.2 yards per game.

Denver did just about anything it wanted running the ball two weeks ago against Philadelphia and ended with an amazing 255 yards on the ground. Mike Anderson (604 yards, 4 TD) rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries, while Tatum Bell (562 yards, 5 TD) carried the ball 14 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns. The running backs have combined for 745 yards on the ground over the team's last four games (186.3 ypg). Overall this season, the Broncos are ranked second in the NFL with 170.8 rushing yards per test.

The Raiders did a decent job against the run against KC, but still allowed two big fourth-quarter touchdowns to Johnson. Overall, Johnson ran for 107 of his team's 114 yards. Interior lineman Warren Sapp (27 tackles, 5 sacks, 1 INT) and Ted Washington (27 tackles) each had three tackles in the game. Oakland is near the middle of the league (17th) in running defense, allowing 115.6 yards per game.

RAIDERS OFFENSE VS. BRONCOS DEFENSE

Oakland has become known for its aerial attack and is currently sixth in the league this year in passing offense (246 ypg). However, the Raiders had a very difficult time throwing the ball against KC, a team that is near the bottom of the league in defending the pass. Kerry Collins (2,057 yards, 12 TD, 3 INT) threw for just 175 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Jerry Porter (38 receptions, 494 yards, 3 TD) led the way with seven catches for 68 yards and a touchdown. Ailing wideout Randy Moss (26 receptions, 542 yards, 4 TD) had just one catch for a seven-yard touchdown. Moss has been hobbled by rib and groin injuries is once again listed as questionable for this week's game.

The Broncos allowed Philadelphia quarterback Donovan McNabb to throw for 283 yards and three touchdown passes, but they also picked him off twice. A good portion of the passing yardage came on a 91-yard touchdown strike from McNabb to the currently exiled Terrell Owens. Domonique Foxworth (32 tackles, 2 INT) and John Lynch (35 tackles, 1 INT) each intercepted a pass in the win. Pro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey (21 tackles, 3 INT) added two tackles for Denver. The Broncos have allowed 244.5 yards through the air per game for 29th in the NFL.

The Raiders have vastly improved a running offense that was last in the NFL a year ago and still are still ranked just 27th this year (88.5 ypg). LaMont Jordan has 592 yards in eight games this season and could be the first Raider with a 1,000-yard season since Tyrone Wheatley did it in 2000. After gaining just 148 yards in the first three games of the season, Jordan has averaged 88.9 yards per game in his next five contests. Last week, Jordan carried the ball 19 times for 93 yards.

Denver has one of the best defenses against the run this season, surrendering just 88.2 yards per game for fifth-best in the league. The Broncos allowed very little in the way of running yards against the Eagles, but Philadelphia is not exactly known for its rushing prowess. Brian Westbrook led the Eagles with just 48 of the team's 79 rushing yards. Ian Gold (42 tackles, 1 sack) had a team-high eight tackles, while fellow linebacker D.J. Williams (26 tackles) made five stops.

OVERALL ANALYSIS

The Broncos have looked like the class of the AFC West this season, but are just 1-2 on the road this year. That shouldn't matter this week because Denver is well-rested and should take advantage of a Raiders defense that has likely yet to recover from last week's dramatic loss. Oakland will gain more through the air this week, but the Broncos defense will be good enough to keep the Raiders from putting up a big score.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Broncos 28, Raiders 20

Bet Now - Old Rivals

The Raiders have a chance to make up ground on the Broncos in the AFC West Sunday when the teams take the gridiron at Network Associates Coliseum.

Both teams have a chance to improve their showing within the AFC West division. Oakland is 3-5 (0-3 in the division), while the Broncos sit at 6-2 (2-0 in the division).

Oddsmakers like the Broncos on the road in this one, opening them as a 3-point favorite. The total opened at 47.

Mike Shanahan's team was busy last game winning against Philadelphia 49-21 as 3.5-point favorites. The 70 points sent that game over the total of 42.5.

Meanwhile, at Arrowhead Stadium, the underdog Raiders were losing to Kansas City 27-23. The game was a Kansas City cover and an under play.

Oakland knows that beating the Broncos depends on stopping the run. Denver will hit them with a ground game that has averaged 170.8 yards per game this season, #2 in the league.

Matchup Data - Oakland Vs Chiefs

Bet Now

Expect offense to rule Sunday when the Raiders visit Kansas City, a game that sees Vegas oddsmakers favoring lots of scoring by posting a total of 51.

Sporting a 4-3 overall record and a 1-2 mark within the division, the Chiefs aim to knock the Raiders (0-2 in the division) for a loss.

The Chiefs (4-3 ATS) opened as 4.5-point favorites and they host a Raiders team that has covered 4 of their 7 games this season.

Norv Turner's troops went to Tennessee last game and came away with a 34-25 win, a game that went over 46. Oddsmakers had them as 2-point favorites in that one.

Kansas City, on the other hand, are home to shake off a loss last time out against San Diego. They were 4.5-point underdogs and ended up on the wrong end of a 28-20 score, in a game that went under the closing total of 49.5.

Don't expect Oakland to beat itself with turnovers this week. They have allowed just 1.0 turnovers per game so far this season, rated 3rd in the league, meaning the Chiefs can expect no gifts.

The Cincinnati Bengals will try to push a divisional foe even further down the AFC North standings Sunday when they visit Baltimore to take on the Ravens.

Sporting a 6-2 overall record and a 1-1 mark within the division, the Bengals aim to knock the Ravens (1-1 in the division) for a loss.

The Bengals open a slight 3-point road favorite in this one, while the total opened at a low 36.

Last time out, at Paul Brown Stadium against Green Bay, the Bengals as favorites defeated Green Bay 21-14. The game was a Green Bay cover and an under play.

Baltimore, on the other hand, are home to shake off a loss last time out against Pittsburgh. They were 8.5-point underdogs and ended up on the wrong end of a 20-19 score, in a game that went over the closing total of 33.5.

Cincinnati takes care of the ball on offense, seldom turning it over. The Ravens' defense may need to put on their "ball-hawk" hats to give themselves some additional possessions on offense.

Some trends to consider:
Cincinnati is 1-7-0 ATS in its last 8 away games against Baltimore
Cincinnati is 1-4-1 ATS in its last 6 games after being 7.5 to 10 point favorites

Oddsmakers like the Chargers in this one, opening the line at 5 in favor of San Diego. They are 5-2-1 ATS this season, while the Jets are 2-5. The total, which is 3-4 to the OVER in Jets games and 3-5 to the OVER in Chargers games, has been set at 42.
