About Ipod Nano
Take everything you love about iPod and shrink it. Now shrink it again. With 4GB (1,000 songs), the pencil-thin iPod nano packs the entire iPod experience into an impossibly small design. So small, it will take your music places you never dreamed of.

Believe Your Ears
Call it astonishing. Unbelievable. Impossible, even. Then pick it up and hold it in your hand. Take in the brilliant color display. Run your thumb around the Click Wheel. Put on the earbuds and turn up your music. That’s when everything becomes clear: It’s an iPod.

It holds up to three days’ worth of music. It plays for up to 14 hours between battery charges. It displays the color album art for the song you’re listening to right now. It carries your photos, podcasts and audiobooks. It syncs seamlessly with iTunes. It connects to a host of iPod accessories. Simply put, iPod nano is 100-percent iPod. And then some.

Touch and Go iPod nano’s Click Wheel puts music under your thumb. Click to fast-forward, rewind, play, pause or access menus. Use the touch-sensitive surface to control volume or browse music. You can do it all without looking. But with an iPod this beautiful, who’d want to?

Song Stylings
Add accessories to your iPod nano via the Dock connector and headphone jack and your music will always keep up with you — at home, on the go, even in your car. Of course, in either signature white or sleek black, iPod nano itself makes the ultimate accessory.

Up to 4GB of skip-free storage on a featherweight iPod means you can wear almost three days’ worth of music around your neck. Or jog with 1,000 songs on your arm. Now that you can take your music everywhere, there’s no limit to where it will take you.

Holidays are coming and online shopping will set new records for sales
10.23.06 (10:05 am)   [edit]

This year will again set new records for online transactions for the holidays. Most folks will search on Google for the online shopping resources they need and then they will make decisions about the purchases they will make. It is estimated that online shoppers will spend several billion dollars this holiday season shopping online.

Many of those online shoppers will search through the ebay database for the best bargains and auctions for items they really want, so I wanted to recommend a few links to access the ebay system;

    10.21.06 (10:59 am)   [edit]

There are many categories on ebay which you can explore to find anything under the sun, so ebay is where I will begin my new blog format.  Each category I describe will lead to the ebay area and give you a chance to bid on items you want to buy.

Since the admin at this site does not allow affiliate links, I will not place any affiliate links on this blog at all, ever! I will simply recommend sites for you to visit which will bring you the cheapest prices, best shopping bargains and lowest discount prices.

TOP RATED SHOPPING BARGIANS AND AUCTIONS

I like photography, so I recommend that you begin there, but when you click the top level domain above, there are category links on the left side of the site.

    EBAY CATEGORY FOR PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography is the process of making pictures by means of the action of light. Light patterns reflected or emitted from objects are recorded onto a sensitive medium or storage chip through a timed exposure. The process is done through mechanical, chemical or digital devices known as cameras.

Wikibooks has more about this subject:PhotographyThe word comes from the Greek words φως phos ("light"), and γραφ& iota;ς graphis ("stylus", "paintbrush") or γραφ& eta; graphê, together meaning "drawing with light" or "representation by means of lines" or "drawing." Traditionally the product of photography has been called a photograph. The term photo is an abbreviation; many people also call them pictures. In digital photography, the term image has begun to replace photograph. (The term image is traditional in geometric optics.)

When I was stationed in South Korea in 1970 and 71, I took up black and white photography, and I used high speed ectachrome film for all my pictures. I loved this hobby, and all of my pictures appeared to be taken in a very sunny place, due to the high speed film.

Monday Night Football - Broncos and Ravens
    10.09.06 (6:02 am)   [edit]

    BET ON SPORTS

The Denver Broncos lost their season opener 18-10 to the St. Louis Rams, but they've bounced back with two straight victories. However, to keep that record above .500 they'll need to get past the unbeaten Baltimore Ravens in their Monday night matchup.

But beating the Ravens Monday night is a tall order for Denver, even if the oddsmakers have them pegged as 4-point home favorites (with a total of 33) in the contest. Baltimore has allowed just 33 points over four games so far this season, while the Broncos have put just 36 points on the scoreboard over their first three 2006 matchups.

That means Denver will need to step up their production versus a team that has barely allowed anyone to score on them this year. Of course, the Ravens haven't exactly been playing world-beaters to date - they blanked Tampa Bay, allowed only six points versus Oakland, gave up 14 to Cleveland, then held San Diego to 13 last week. Still, Denver hasn't scored more than 17 points in any contest this season (putting up 10, 9, and 17).

And Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer has been on the hot seat all year long, thanks to awful performances against St. Louis (13-of-26 for 138 yards, zero TDs, three INTs) and Kansas City (16-of-30 for 173 yards, zero TDs, one INT) in Denver's first two games. Plummer bounced back somewhat in their third game against New England (15-of-30 for 256 yards, two TDs, zero INTs), but his quarterback rating is still sitting at just 60.6, and he has twice as many INTs (4) and sacks-against (4) as he has touchdowns.

Steve McNair hasn't been spectacular for the Ravens, but when your team is 4-0 a lot of issues can get overlooked. McNair is 73-of-131 for 746 yards passing on the season (for a completion percentage of 55.7%), and he's thrown five touchdown strikes, been intercepted three times, and sacked seven times. Overall, McNair's quarterback rating is sitting at 75.4, which ranked him 24th in the league going into Week 5 against Denver.

Baltimore has paid off for their supporters this year, as they sit with a 3-1 record against-the-spread. On the road, the Ravens are 1-1 ATS, and as the underdog they are 2-0 ATS. Taking the UNDER for Baltimore games this season has been profitable as well; the Ravens are 0-3-1 OVER/UNDER so far, with strong defense playing a role.

The Broncos haven't been a great bet in 2006, as they sit with a 1-2 against-the-spread record. At home Denver is 0-1 ATS, and as the favored team they are 0-2 ATS. Like the Ravens, the Broncos have been a poor play for OVER bettors so far in 2006, as all three of their contests have seen the combined score go UNDER the day's posted total.

Denver and Baltimore met once in 2005, with the Broncos pulling out a 12-10 home victory on December 11. However, the Broncos had been favored by 14.5-points over the struggling Ravens in that contest, and didn't come close to covering the big spread. The total for the game had been listed at 40 points, which made the result an UNDER.

Here is the official Week 5 injury report for the Ravens:

Justin Green RB Questionable Week 5 (Neck)
Evan Oglesby CB Questionable Week 5 (Thigh)
Terrell Suggs DE Questionable Week 5 (Thigh)
Adalius Thomas LB Questionable Week 5 (Neck)
Daniel Wilcox TE Questionable Week 5 (Thigh)
Todd Heap TE Questionable Week 5 (Thigh)
Mike Smith LB Questionable Week 5 (Hip)

Here is the official Week 5 injury report for the Broncos:

Cedric Cobbs RB Out Week 5 (Ankle)
Courtney Brown DE Doubtful Week 5 (Knee)

After playing in Denver on Monday night the Ravens will return to M&T Bank Stadium for a Week 6 home contest against the Carolina Panthers. The Broncos will remain in Colorado for their next matchup, which will take place on Sunday night against Oakland.

Cardinals try to knock off the Padres - Major League Playoffs
    10.08.06 (6:50 am)   [edit]

    BET ON SPORTS

San Diego expects to build on last game's 3-1 win against the Cardinals on Sunday and they entrust Woody Williams to get the job done when they battle the Cardinals at Busch Stadium in Game four of the NLDS.

The Padres ask Woody Williams and his 12-5, 3.65 mark to outduel St. Louis starter Chris Carpenter, 15-8 3.09 ERA.

The Cardinals opened as 175 favorites with their ace on the mound. The total opened at 7.5.

San Diego won at St. Louis against the Cardinals last game as underdogs, tallying a score of 3-1. The combined score went under the total.

The Padres staff is stingy with baserunners, allowing fewer men to reach base than just about every team in the league. St. Louis needs to get to Williams and into the bullpen to make things happen today.

    Some trends to consider:
San Diego is 1-5-0 OU in its last 6 games
San Diego is 1-4-0 OU in its last 5 games against St. Louis
San Diego is 2-4-0 OU in its last 6 away
San Diego is 7-1-0 SU in its last 8 games after scoring 1 to 3 runs
St. Louis is 8-17-1 OU in its last 26 at home

New York Yankees about out of the Playoffs - Bronx Bombers
    10.07.06 (10:13 am)   [edit]

The New York Yankees will look to bounce back from their 6-0 loss on Friday when they face the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park on Saturday, down 2-1 in the series.

The Yankees are favored to extend the series on the road listed at -130, with the Tigers rated at +110, and a posted total of 10.

The Tigers have Jeremy Bonderman on the mound on Saturday, with his 14-8 regular season record to go with a 4.08 ERA. Curtis Granderson has hit two home runs and five RBIs for the Tigers.

Jaret Wright has the daunting task of trying to send this series back to New York for Game Five, heading into this game with an 11-7 record with a 4.49 ERA. Johnny Damon has driven in three runs, along with a homer, in his first Yankee postseason.

    Some trends to consider:
New York is 5-13-0 OU in its last 18 games away against Detroit
New York is 2-5-0 OU in its last 7 away

Battle of lefties in Tigers/Yankees matchup - MLB
    10.06.06 (6:06 am)   [edit]

    BET ON SPORTS

The Detroit Tigers will be looking for the upper hand when they host the New York Yankees at Comerica Park on Friday with the series tied at 1.

The Yankees are favored to win on the road at -150 on this day, with the Tigers listed at an underdog +140. The OVER/UNDER is listed at 9 runs.

The Tigers will send out Kenny Rogers on Friday, and Rogers will give Detroit fans a good feeling with his 17-8 record and 3.84 ERA. The Tigers need Brandon Inge to get it going in this postseason at the plate.

Randy Johnson goes to work for the Yankees with his 17-11 record and his ERA of 5. Yankee fans are starting to wonder whether Alex Rodriguez will ever be a dominant postseason performer like his teammate Derek Jeter.

Yankees try to pad the series lead - Baseball Playoffs
    10.05.06 (6:10 am)   [edit]

    BET ON SPORTS

After rain postponed Game 2 Wednesday, the New York Yankees will look to follow up last game's win over the Tigers with another Thursday at home and take a 2-0 series lead in their AL best-of-five set. They send Mike Mussina against Justin Verlander.

The Tigers start Justin Verlander, 17-9, 3.63 ERA.

Detroit will need to get their bats going if they hope to turn things around, executing simple hit-and run plays last game resulted in double-plays being made against them.

Check back later for this game's line and total.

The Yankees are used to these delays and have a multitude of experience, including Derek Jeter who belted a home run and collected four hits and two RBI in the series opener.

Last time out, the Tigers lost to the Yankees 8-4 as underdogs. That contest went over the closing total.

The Tigers need to cut down on the strikeouts and get some runners on base. They rank #13 in the league, whiffing seven times per game. The hitters need to make some contact.

    Some trends to consider:
Detroit is 2-4-0 OU in its last 6 games away against New York

    NFL Power Ranking Week 5
    10.04.06 (6:06 am)   [edit]

    BET ON SPORTS

The Indianapolis Colts, the Chicago Bears, and the Baltimore Ravens are the last three unbeaten teams in the National Football League, and they hold down the top three spots in this week's edition of the NFL Power Rankings. The Bears will try to go to 5-0 by getting past the Buffalo Bills this week, while the Ravens will need to top the Denver Broncos on Monday night to keep that zero in the loss column. The Colts look like they have a gift this week - they're scheduled to take on the winless Tennessee Titans, with a win likely keeping them atop the list heading into Week 6.

The Titans are one of four winless teams left in the league, and they obviously will have the toughest time picking up that elusive first victory this weekend. The 0-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a road game against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, while the 0-4 Detroit Lions play in Minnesota against the Vikings, and the 0-3 Oakland Raiders travel across the bay to battle the San Francisco 49ers. Obviously all four of those teams will be underdogs this weekend; in fact, the Titans opened as huge 18.5-point road underdogs against the Colts, a spread usually seen only in college.

Here is the Week 5 edition of the NFL Power Rankings.

    01 - Indianapolis Colts 4-0 SU, 3-1 ATS (Last Week 01)

Needed a touchdown run from Peyton Manning late in the fourth quarter to get a win over the Jets on Sunday.

    02 - Chicago Bears 4-0 SU, 3-1 ATS (Last Week 04)

Did the Bears catch the Seahawks on an off-week, or are they that far ahead of the NFC competition this year?

    03 - Baltimore Ravens 4-0 SU, 3-1 ATS (Last Week 05)

Won a battle of unbeatens by upending the Chargers Sunday. Late TD toss by Steve McNair was the difference.

    04 - New England Patriots 3-1 SU, 2-2 ATS (Last Week 09)

Tamed the Bengals last week (38-13) to shoot back up the list. Scored 24 straight points to finish out the contest.

    05 - Seattle Seahawks 3-1 SU, 2-2 ATS (Last Week 02)

Only managed two FGs in their loss to the Bears last week. Matt Hasselbeck was picked off twice in the defeat.

    06 - Cincinnati Bengals 3-1 SU, 3-1 ATS (Last Week 03)

Carson Palmer went just 20-of-35 for 245 yards passing in their loss to the Patriots, with zero touchdown strikes.

    07 - San Diego Chargers 2-1 SU, 2-1 ATS (Last Week 06)

Philip Rivers tossed a TD strike for them in the first quarter Sunday, but he couldn't get a crucial score in the fourth.

    08 - Denver Broncos 2-1 SU, 1-2 ATS (Last Week 08)

Come off a bye week into a Monday Night Football contest against Baltimore, so they'll at least be plenty rested.

    09 - Philadelphia Eagles 3-1 SU, 3-1 ATS (Last Week 13)

Donovan McNabb threw for two touchdowns and ran for another two in their easy win over the Packers on MNF.

    10 - Pittsburgh Steelers 1-2 SU, 1-2 ATS (Last Week 10)

Another tough opponent for the Steelers this weekend, as they take on the Chargers in the Sunday night contest.

    11 - New York Giants 1-2 SU, 1-2 ATS (Last Week 11)

Will tumble down this list if they come off their bye week and play poorly this Sunday against the rival Redskins.

    12 - Jacksonville Jaguars 2-2 SU, 2-2 ATS (Last Week 07)

The Jaguars are falling down the list after losing to Washington last week. Get a visit from the Jets this week.

    13 - Dallas Cowboys 2-1 SU, 2-1 ATS (Last Week 14)

Terrell Owens didn't get into the end zone versus the Titans, but he did have five catches for 88 yards in the win.

    14 - Carolina Panthers 2-2 SU, 0-4 ATS (Last Week 15)

Topped New Orleans last week to move up in the division, but they still haven't managed to cover a spread in '06.

    15 - St. Louis Rams 3-1 SU, 3-1 ATS (Last Week 18)

Came out on top in a high-scoring affair versus the Lions. Marc Bulger threw for 328 yards and three touchdowns.

    16 - Atlanta Falcons 3-1 SU, 3-1 ATS (Last Week 19)

Running game was back versus the Cards, with Jerious Norwood and Michael Vick both rushing for 100+ yards.

    17 - New Orleans Saints 3-1 SU, 4-0 ATS (Last Week 16)

Drew Brees was still good in their loss to Carolina (28-of-38 for 349 yards), but the unbeaten season is done.

    18 - Kansas City Chiefs 1-2 SU, 2-1 ATS (Last Week 20)

Larry Johnson ran for 101 yards and two scores as the Chiefs pounded the 49ers for their first win of the year.

    19 - Washington Redskins 2-2 SU, 2-2 ATS (Last Week 21)

Mark Brunell threw a touchdown pass to Santana Moss in overtime on Sunday to give the Redskins the victory.

    20 - Buffalo Bills 2-2 SU, 3-1 ATS (Last Week 25)

Suddenly the Bills are 2-2 after topping the Vikings last week. J.P. Losman went 23-of-32 for 222 yards passing.

    21 - New York Jets 2-2 SU, 3-1 ATS (Last Week 22)

Almost pulled off an upset over the Colts Sunday afternoon; holding on for that win would've moved them farther up.

    22 - Minnesota Vikings 2-2 SU, 3-1 ATS (Last Week 12)

Scored a fourth-quarter touchdown to make the final closer, but their record was still dropped to the .500 mark.

    23 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-3 SU, 1-2 ATS (Last Week 23)

Will try for their first win again this week, versus the Saints. An 0-4 start to the year would be a T-Bay disaster.

    24 - Miami Dolphins 1-3 SU, 0-4 ATS (Last Week 17)

Lost to the Texans last week to continue their miserable '06 campaign. Haven't paid off for their bettors either.

    25 - Arizona Cardinals 1-3 SU, 0-4 ATS (Last Week 24)

Got trampled by the Falcons last week, with Matt Leinart going 5-of-8 for 49 yards and an INT in relief duties.

    26 - San Francisco 49ers 1-3 SU, 2-2 ATS (Last Week 26)

41-0 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday was one of the year's ugliest efforts. Good news though - Raiders this week.

    27 - Green Bay Packers 1-3 SU, 1-3 ATS (Last Week 27)

Managed just three FGs on Monday night, and QB Brett Favre was picked off twice and threw for only 205 yards.

    28 - Cleveland Browns 1-3 SU, 2-2 ATS (Last Week 29)

Finally found a team they could beat in the Raiders, but it took three unanswered touchdowns to get the job done.

Post Season Power RAnkings - Major League Baseball
    10.03.06 (6:18 am)   [edit]
The New York Yankees remain atop the MLB Power Rankings this week, with the postseason beginning on Tuesday. New York will take on the Detroit Tigers in Game 1 of their ALDS tonight, with 19-game winner Chien-Ming Wang facing off against the Tigers' Nate Robertson. Also getting underway today are series between the Minnesota Twins and the Oakland Athletics, and the San Diego Padres and the St. Louis Cardinals. The first game of the other division series, the New York Mets vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers, gets underway on Wednesday afternoon.

The first three spots of the Power Rankings are occupied by American League teams heading into the playoffs, with the Twins and the Athletics following on the heels of the Bronx Bombers. The first National League team on the list, the Mets, sits in spot No. 4 - the loss of Pedro Martinez for the season was a big blow to their championship hopes. The Tigers fall one spot to No. 5 this week after failing to win the AL Central, while the Padres, Dodgers, and Cardinals fill out the rest of the field. All four division series will be completed by next Monday at the very latest.

Here is the postseason edition of the MLB Power Rankings.

01 - New York Yankees (Last Week 01)

    Qualified As: AL East Champion | 2006 Record: 97-65 | Last 10 Games: 5-5 | Current Streak: Lost 2
Randy Johnson might not be 100%, but a team with Alex Rodriguez batting sixth has to feel pretty good.

    02 - Minnesota Twins (Last Week 05)

    Qualified As: AL Central Champion | 2006 Record: 96-66 | Last 10 Games: 6-4 | Current Streak: Won 1
Grabbed the Central title and home-field advantage in the ALDS with their hot streak to end the season.

    03 - Oakland Athletics (Last Week 03)

    Qualified As: AL West Champion | 2006 Record: 93-69 | Last 10 Games: 4-6 | Current Streak: Won 1
Having Rich Harden back in the rotation helps their chances. Want to shake off their postseason demons.

04 - New York Mets (Last Week 02)

    Qualified As: NL East Champion | 2006 Record: 97-65 | Last 10 Games: 5-5 | Current Streak: Won 4
Might still be the class of the National League, but they'd look a lot better with Pedro Martinez on the hill.

    05 - Detroit Tigers (Last Week 04)

Qualified As: AL Wild Card Winner | 2006 Record: 95-67 | Last 10 Games: 4-6 | Current Streak: Lost 5
A quick playoff exit for the Tigers and their turnaround season will mean less. Need to outpitch New York.

06 - San Diego Padres (Last Week 06)

    Qualified As: NL West Champion | 2006 Record: 88-74 | Last 10 Games: 8-2 | Current Streak: Won 2
Edged the Dodgers for the NL West division title, which gets them one extra home game in the NLDS.

07 - Los Angeles Dodgers (Last Week 08)

Qualified As: NL Wild Card Winner | 2006 Record: 88-74 | Last 10 Games: 9-1 | Current Streak: Won 7
Won't have to face Martinez in the NLDS, but they'll need solid efforts from Derek Lowe and Greg Maddux.

08 - St. Louis Cardinals (Last Week 07)

    Qualified As: NL Central Champion | 2006 Record: 83-78 | Last 10 Games: 3-7 | Current Streak: Lost 1
Found a way to hold onto first place in the NL Central, and now have a clean slate to start the playoffs.

    Monday Night Football
    10.02.06 (5:57 am)   [edit]

    BET ON SPORTS

Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers picked up their first win of the season last week against the Detroit Lions. If Favre and company can get past the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Monday night, they'll be able to square their '06 record at 2-2.

However, with all apologies to the Lions, the Packers haven't shown they can compete with quality teams so far this season. In Week 1 Green Bay was blanked 26-0 by the Chicago Bears, and they followed up that loss with a 34-27 defeat at the hands of the New Orleans Saints in Week 2. The final score in their victory over the Lions was 31-24.

Do the Eagles qualify as a quality team? Well, they're 2-1 on the year (and 2-1 against-the-spread as well), and they entered Week 4 in first place in the NFC East division. But Philadelphia's two wins came against league doormats Houston (24-10 in Week 1) and San Francisco (38-24 in Week 3). Their loss came in Week 2 against the New York Giants, when they gave up 17 points in the final quarter and eventually lost 30-24 in OT.

So Philadelphia still has something to prove as well, although Donovan McNabb has been effective so far this season. The quarterback threw for 314, 350, and 296 yards over the team's first three contests, with seven touchdown strikes and just a single INT.

Favre has been pretty good as well - if you don't look at his Week 1 numbers. The Packers QB went just 15-of-29 for 170 yards passing against the tough Bears, with no TD strikes and two interceptions. However, Favre has bounced back with two straight games of 340 yards in the air, throwing six TD passes and getting picked off just once.

Oddsmakers and bettors, though, haven't been giving the Packers much of a shot on Monday night. Philadelphia is currently pegged as a huge 11.5-point home favorite, with the total going from an opening 45.5 points to a current 48.5 points. The Eagles are 2-1 ATS and 2-1 OU so far in 2006, while the Packers are 1-2 ATS and 2-1 OU this season.

The Eagles won the meeting between these teams last season, picking up a 19-14 victory at home in November. Philadelphia had been favored by 4 points in that contest, while the combined score fell UNDER the posted total (41.5). The previous season the Eagles pounded Green Bay 47-17 at home, covering the spread and creating an OVER.

On the injury front, the Eagles have both RB Brian Westbrook (knee) and WR Donte Stallworth (hamstring) listed as questionable for this game. Westbrook returned to practice on Saturday, and his swollen knee shouldn't keep him off the field on Monday. Stallworth is expected to play too, but is more of a game-time decision. For the Packers RB Ahman Green (rib) was listed as probable, but he is now considered questionable.

Here is the official Week 4 injury report for the Packers:

Kenderick Allen DT Out Week 4 (Foot)
Will Blackmon CB Questionable Week 4 (Foot)
Junius Coston T Questionable Week 4 (Knee)
Ryan Pickett DT Questionable Week 4 (Ankle)
Jason Spitz G Questionable Week 4 (Thigh)
Ahman Green RB Probable Week 4 (Rib)
Aaron Kampman DE Probable Week 4 (Head)
David Martin TE Probable Week 4 (Illness)

Here is the official Week 4 injury report for the Eagles:

Roderick Hood CB Doubtful Week 4 (Heel)
Lito Sheppard CB Doubtful Week 4 (Ankle)
Brian Dawkins S Questionable Week 4 (Concussion)
Donte' Stallworth WR Questionable Week 4 (Hamstring)
Brian Westbrook RB Questionable Week 4 (Knee)
Shawn Andrews G Probable Week 4 (Shoulder)
Reggie Brown WR Probable Week 4 (Shoulder)
Sean Considine S Probable Week 4 (Hip)
Darren Howard DE Probable Week 4 (Knee)
Michael Lewis S Probable Week 4 (Quadricep)
Reno Mahe RB Probable Week 4 (Ankle)
Matt McCoy LB Probable Week 4 (Stinger)
L.J. Smith TE Probable Week 4 (Shoulder)
Tra Thomas T Probable Week 4 (Foot)
Darwin Walker DT Probable Week 4 (Quadricep)

After playing on Monday night the Packers go back home for a Week 5 contest against Marc Bulger and the St. Louis Rams. The Eagles, meanwhile, remain in Philadelphia for their Week 5 contest, and they will play host to Terrell Owens and the Dallas Cowboys.

NFL Game Day Sunday - Big Matchups Today
    10.01.06 (9:46 am)   [edit]

    Bet on Sports at VIP.COM

There are two matchups between undefeated teams on the NFL schedule for Sunday, while the 2-1 Patriots get a tough game versus the 3-0 Bengals. Here's a closer look . . .

San Diego (-2) at Baltimore 1:00 PM

The Ravens' defense has managed to get the job done so far this year - and as a result they're currently 3-0. Baltimore blanked Tampa Bay 27-0 back in Week 1, then topped Oakland 28-6 in Week 2. Last week the Ravens got down early against Cleveland, but  surged back for a 15-14 victory. Against the Chargers this week TE Todd Heap (ankle) is listed as probable, while S Ed Reed (foot) is questionable and has been called a game-time decision. DT Haloti Ngata (back) is questionable too, but intends on playing.

The Chargers had a bye in Week 3, after beating Oakland and Tennessee, respectively, in their first two games of the season. In those two victories against weak opposition San Diego managed to score 67 points while allowing only seven. Their game against Baltimore this week will be a better test of where they stand in 2006, but the oddsmakers seem to like their chances - they've been set as a 2-point road favorite. On the injury front, WR Keenan McCardell (hamstring) is questionable, but likely to suit up.

New England at Cincinnati (-5.5) 4:15 PM

The Patriots were handily defeated 17-7 by Denver on Sunday night last week, which dropped their record to 2-1 on the season. More distressing, though, is the fact that New England has actually been outscored 51-50 by their opponents through their first three games this season. Slim wins over Buffalo and the Jets to start the year don't have Pats fans very enthused about the team right now, and the oddsmakers aren't too impressed either - the Bengals have been pegged as 5.5-point home favorites on the betting line.

Cincinnati, of course, has yet to lose this season, and their win over the division-rival Steelers last week kept them in a first-place tie with the Ravens in the AFC North division. Each of C Rich Braham, S Dexter Jackson, WR Tab Perry, and DE Frostee Rucker are listed as out for the Bengals this week, while DT Sam Adams (knee) and WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (foot) are probable. Cincinnati has put 85 points on the scoreboard over three contests so far this season, second only to the Colts in the AFC.

Seattle at Chicago (-3.5) 8:15 PM

The Seahawks pounded the Giants to move to 3-0 on the season last week, but they won't have star RB Shaun Alexander on the field when they play the 3-0 Bears on Sunday. Alexander (foot) was initially listed as doubtful on the injury report this week, but he was later downgraded to out (Maurice Morris will start in the backfield in his place). Also out for Seattle are TE Jerramy Stevens, DT Marcus Tubbs, and G Floyd Womack. With Alexander hurt, oddsmakers have Chicago as 3.5-point home favorites.

The Bears have given up only 23 points over three games so far this season, with 16 of them coming last week in their slim win over the Vikings. Starting QB Rex Grossman went 23-of-41 for 278 yards versus Minnesota, with one TD pass and two INTs - but that one TD pass gave them the win in the fourth quarter. On the injury front, TE Desmond Clark (ankle) is listed as questionable after missing some practice time this week, while RB Thomas Jones hasn't looked great this season but insists he is healthy.
